Major Campaign

The Notre-Dame Basilica Foundation of Montreal is launching its major fundraising campaign, A History and a Future to Preserve, to support the restoration of Notre-Dame Basilica, an iconic project that began in 2020. This project aims to preserve this historic building for future generations and ensure its sustainability.

The Foundation wishes to rally the Montreal community around its restoration project by inviting them to commit to preserving this priceless heritage that is at the heart of our collective history and cultural identity.

Major Projects

The Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal requires urgent restoration work. Its historic infrastructure is showing signs of alarming deterioration, and in some sections, the situation has become critical enough to require temporary protection and stabilization measures pending permanent repairs.

The total cost of the conservation work is estimated at over $75 million. Without government assistance, the preservation of this heritage gem depends on the support of private partners. To date, the Fabrique de la paroisse Notre-Dame has already committed nearly $25 million in financial commitments to carry out its projects.

Major restoration work on the Basilica began in 2020 and is currently underway. The elements to be restored include masonry, flashings, bell towers and their sound structures, as well as other architectural elements in order to preserve the exterior facade of Notre-Dame and the integrity of the building.

Trio Jazz Jonathan Ethier

Under the direction of jazz guitarist Jonathan Ethier, the Jonathan Ethier Trio elegantly revisits great standards, swing, and Latin rhythms, while adding a modern touch to more recent pieces. The trio features Marcin Garbulinski on double bass and Éric Thibodeau on drums, forming a rhythm section that is both flexible and powerful. Together, they create a vibrant atmosphere where virtuosity and the joy of playing come together.
